The Brief

The house was being extended and the garden had fabulous views into the countryside.  A new outbuilding (Gym) was required and the levels needed a re think to make the garden more inviting.

The Solution

Wide inviting steps take you into the space and a contrasting porcelain subtly marks out a path to draw you further into the garden.  The water feature makes a stunning focal point from inside the gym and a dining area and relaxing area complete the functional spaces.  A pergola prevents the relaxing area from feeling too exposed while not blocking any views.  The contemporary design uses touches of Corten steel throughout but is softened with planting and a meadow area at the back to help the garden blend seamlessly into the surroundings, creating the illusion of a much bigger space.
