The Brief

The garden of this beautiful cottage had been sadly neglected and parts of it were inaccessible and overgrown. Although the existing summerhouse and some gravel areas were to stay; the rest of the garden needed a complete overhaul.

Solution

The front garden was given a complete planting overhaul including the removal of a dead apple tree and other shrubs that had grown too large next to the house. A great number of plants were kept and re-used in appropriate positions. The gravel was tidied up and a new sleeper edging and new steps leading onto the lawn were added.

Testimonial

When I moved into Sids Cottage, the garden had become very overgrown and lacked any order. I needed someone who could completely project manage a total revamp. I wanted a garden that would be relatively low maintenance, yet be appropriate for a 300 year old thatched cottage. Anthea did a superb job in co-ordinating everything. From the initial garden clearance to the designing and laying of new seating areas and driveway, some much needed tree surgery and the final planting. The result is a wonderful, relaxing ,outdoor space that has attracted many admiring comments.
