The Brief

The garden as it was lacked structure and interest. A few key elements were well worthy of retention in the garden for example the beautiful trees; and the clients had also recently installed a summer house. The clients were very keen to make their garden all about plants with the only hard landscaping required being a seating area for the garden furniture.

Solution

A new layout fundamentally shaped by the large borders was created. A new seating area in complete sympathy with the house was designed utilising bricks left over from some renovation work. Although the mature trees all stayed in place, the new structure gave them all a reason for their position rather than just appearing randomly placed as previously.
The garden visitor is now guided around to appreciate different areas ending at the summerhouse, nestled comfortably in the corner.
